New year, new roommate. Frank is a ticked tabby whom I met in the West End. Shouts out to Animal Advocates for their rescue work and for letting Frank adopt me. To commemorate, I put together a “Frank the Cat” playlist. There’s some of the obvious cat-centric cuts, as well as some potentially glaring omissions (David Bowie’s titular track from Cat People is a great song, but the feline focus is rather obscure; “Everybody Wants to be a Cat” is a banger, but disqualified for problematic cultural depictions). The playlist is rounded out by other songs about human-animal connections with other furry friends, fowl, and fish (Fun fact: I only recently learned that the Martha from “Martha My Dear” is a dog).
